Does the P4P800S Have Onboard Audio??

Question if I get the ASUS P4P800S Mobo will I need a Sound Card Also...this is what the ASUS site says:

Well, it's integrated sound. It should be ok, but it may not be the best. Only way to know is to listen to it then to form an opinion.

BTW, that board has an intel 848 chipset. I haven't heard of this one, but why not the 865 or 875?

Newegg lists specs for almost every part they sell. You should check there since companies like Asus sell multiple versions of the same motherboard, sometimes with audio, sometimes without.

You can still get the Audigy2 even if it does have onboard audio, you just go into the BIOS setup screen for the Asus and disable the onboard sound.

Good catch, it looks like Newegg messed up the specs for this item, it is a much slower single-channel memory motherboard, compared to the other P4P800 (i865) and P4C800 (i875) motherboards with dual-channel memory support. Don't buy this motherboard!
