Does the Mt. Dew in a 20oz bottle taste different than a 12oz can?

Well? I think I can taste a difference, but I don't have the two sitting in front of me to compare.

*takes another swig of dew*

Yes.

EDIT:

To me, it's slight and it doesn't bother me like bottles vs cans when it comes to beer. But I usually prefer the bottles when it comes to soda.

I'd say it's more significant with Mt Dew than any other soda. Better tasting in a can.

Bottles > Cans for all drinks. I taste metal when I drink from a can.

I remember reading that the amount of carbonation in cans and plastic bottles is different, due to the need to support the package. I don't remember which one requires more.
That could be the difference in taste.

Hm interesting. Cans are quite sturdy so my guess is that you're referring to bottles. Anyone got a link to some more info on this?

GLASS bottles are best, but pop in a can is better than a plastic bottle.

My original statement neglected things like Jones and IBC...

Yes but the taste is noticable for me, and I have had my share of dews.
Cans are much tastier.

it should taste different. the storage medium imparts different tastes. the same reason some prefer glass bottles over aluminum cans, or visa versa.

I've never seen it, but glass bottled IBC is > any canned root beer I've drunk.

Plastic bottle is best for mountain dew, because I like mine ice cold and it's too risky putting a can in the freezer.
