Look toward Jesse Jackson. Definitely a bible-thumping moron and sticks like glue to the liberal groups (well depends on the direction of money flow actually). The ones I was referring to in my post were people I know personally and I certainly wouldn't use those names and you wouldn't recognize them if I did, but to continue on the more well known ones, MLK was certainly liberal when it meant something and I think he would be defined as a bible thumper. JFK was very religious, more so than Bush. Perhaps a bible thumper. The term moron is subjective, not objective. My renter that never seems able to pay his rent is a bible-thumping moron who has his Dr. and is the head master of a school, liberal as they come! A previous employee was certainly a bible thumper complete with the PK's, a classic PW, and as liberal as they make them. Like I stated, most of the people I have heard of or have known who were bible thumpers have been liberals. Excepting the current smear campaign, the Democratic Party was always founded and supported in the church. For libs to try to change that history is beyond belief!

I'd say the breakdown of the liberal posters here is more evenly spread - there are some extreamists but I find a lot of people to be pretty reasonable even when I disagree with them.

I'd agree with that. Most of the posters here are low-key liberals, and quite a few are low-key liberal Christians.

I would classify myself as far left, certainly not a moderate, on social issues, at least.

WTF? I have made no claim that all conservatives are bible thumping morons. I said that I have never encountered a Bible thumping moron who possessed a liberal political or social outlook. You gave Jesse Jackson as an example of a liberal Bible thumper. I am asking you to explain why you think Jesse Jackson can reasonably be described as a Bible thumper.

That is because he is a FRAUD he used to talk the talk but the road he has taken shows his true nature. He and Sharpton (Joker) the Rev. before their name thinks it gives them the Moral high ground to put anyone to shame even those with proven higher morals. Which isn't so tough I might add.
