Does the Logitech G7 mouse Have a mini reciever

I see in the pics for the new mouse that it has what looks like a mini reciever that plugs into the base station. What I want to know is can that mini reciever be used on its own away from the base station.... say with a laptop if you dont want to lug the corded base station around?

For anyone who cares I talked with Logitech and the lil USB stick reciever will work on its own as a mini reciever. The base stations main purpose is to charge the mouse battery.
