Does the Gigabyte Radeon 9600 Pro have 8X pipeline

Hi...I bought Gigabyte Radeon 9600 Pro yesterday.
In the manual, I saw it uses 8X pipelines.
Is that the fact? I even saw in the Gigabyte catalog that their Radeon 9600 Pro uses 256bit DDR!!!😕

😉 Basicly the 9600PRO is on par with the GF-FX5600ultra which are both decently slower than the old Rad9500PRO. The 9600PRO is clocked much higher than the 9500PRO (400/600 vs 275/540) but only has half the pipelines, so overall it's a good 15% or so slower. Only the 9700 and up use the 256bit DDR which gives roughly a 20% speed boost, that's most of what you pay the extra for.

🙂 It does seem the 9600PRO o/c well, being a Pro version I don't think the clocks are locked so no need for a BIOS flash which is a bonus. However you're still likely to find Rad9500PRO stock perf about what you'll achieve (not that's bad by any means), and those 9500PRO's o/c'ed very well too. Still they're so hard to find now you might as well try getting one of these ultra rare 9500 std cards which had 256bit RAM and 4 dormant pipes waiting to be awoken LOL!

😉 9600PRO's are still very cool and I'd give them the edge over the GF-FX5600ultra which tends to be a tad pricier anyway.
