As the title says...Epox say's no on one page ("Check our CPU recommendation
list online for recommended processors. ")...which says maximum of a 1.4 ghz... BUT some BIOS files on their site say "Added new BIOS feature to detect Athlon Athlon MP. Actual CPU support varies for models...I would guess no is the answer.

Any information appreciated....looking to run an XP 1600+ or 1800+ on the Epox EP-8KTA3+ motherboard.

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply!

the KT333 is the newest chipset VIA has for AMD cpus.

But I have the VIA KT133A/686Bchipset...I'm confused:confused:

I want to upgrade and there are some good deals out there, but I don't want to buy a chip I can't use, and I love this mobo...stable and fast w RAID.

Anyone else to share a thought?

SlickVic take the info in that file with a grain of salt, it shows my 8KTA will only work with 1GHz or lower 200FSB Athlons and 950MHz or lower Durons, yet I have a new Morgan core 1.2GHz Duron running in my 8KTA just fine.

Actually, I would recommend you stick to that list. Also, try calling their tech support and ask them.
