Just wear a bunny suit 24/7 and you'll be fine

It's summer time and the cable news outlets can only cover so much of Israel/Palestine and Russia and Ukraine before they are sick of the story. Shark attacks and missing airplanes aren't cutting it so we need another disease of the month to scare people. Let's recycle Ebola.

SharknadoBola Lightning attacks.

I'll start worrying when they identify a long incubation strain and then go full agoraphobe/ wear a mask and gloves in public when said strain is diagnosed in the USA.

As it is, no I'm not worried. We don't have the same cultural problems that are contributing to the continued spread over there.

Ebola virus scares me about as much as every other virus. I am going to wash my hands after handling raw meat, garbage, or feces. If I get it, I get it. Nothing can be done about it.

I ain't bothered by it a bit.

Well, wait. Can you get Ebola from eating poop? I don't think so, right?

why aren't you bothered by it? do you already bleed from you ass?

and are you claiming that you eat poop? sorry, my reading comprehension isn't up to par.

You realize that doctors who treat Ebola patients wear full coverage suits and burn them afterwords without touching them and using a flamethrower?

The death of Sheik Umar Khan, who was credited with treating more than 100 patients, follows the deaths of dozens of local health workers and the infection of two American medics in neighboring Liberia, highlighting the dangers faced by staff trying to halt the disease's spread across West Africa.
...
The 39-year-old Khan, hailed as a "national hero" by the Health Ministry, had been moved to a treatment ward run by the medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres in the far north of Sierra Leone.

He died on Tuesday afternoon, less than a week after his diagnosis was announced, and on the same day that President Ernest Bai Koroma was due to visit his treatment center in the northeastern town of Kailahun.

:whiste: doesn't seem to be helping them much.

No, I'm more worried about things we're vaccinated for that people don't want to get vaccinated for and bacteria becoming antibiotic resistant. The flu also always has potential to do a lot of damage (which it actually does, people just seem to dismiss it).

It sucks for the people that live in those regions but personally I'm not worried since I'm not there. I'll start worrying when these start to spread. I think it should be the responsibility of every country to help other countries in crissises like this to prevent that from happening. The US should stop spending on the war in Iraq for about 10 minutes, and use that money to make and send vaccines to Africa.

A guy who died in Lagos arrived on a plane from Liberia. That means others on that plane may have gotten it. BTW, one way deal with ebola is to get a blood transfer from someone who had it and lived. Cheap, fast, and simple. That's what I learned when in Africa years ago.

Sucks for the American doctor and health workers. They went there voluntarily trying to help with relatively limited support.

I'm not really worried since I don't get out much🙂. On the other hand, some asshole on the subway or bus usually coughs on me every day.
