Does the Do Not Call list work with fax numbers?

Nitemare

I've got a fax number with efax that I'm getting bombarded at, yet I signed it up with the Do Not Call registry?

As do ours. If they violate the Do Not Call list don't they have to pay money or something?

I'd like a bonus check

I registered my fax number on that website.

EDIT: I just reread the OP. Yeah we get spam maybe once a month, but nobody should that's registered.

I dont know if the whole "Do not call" thing is going to work, I am starting to get a few calls lately, after a few months of no calls at all.

i think in 1997 there was a federal law set up that people can not spam your fax machine, and when i say i think, i mean i know, im just not sure when. id check it out if i where you, we were just talking about this last night in class, they can be fined like, 300 dollars for each violation and like 1000 if they knowingly violate it, check out laws online and contact the people doing and inform them that they are breaking a federal law and that you will take action if they do not stop

Fax spam is already illegal, under a different set of laws than the DNC, the idea of which is that unsoliticted marketing that costs the receiver (in toner, ink, paper, etc.) is illegal. Good luck though, the law is never enforced to my knowledge.

edit: btw, the DNC specifically does not apply to fax lines or ANY number used for business or commercial use. I laugh when I see that people who have a business in their home have signed up their business line for the the DNC (I see this with RE appraisers all the time). Sorry, Charlie...

Although the law is never enforced here in CA, whenever we recieve a spam fax, we call them up and start asking if they are aware of the law...blah blah blah...

don't get anymore faxes from them so it seems to work.

Both my personal voice and fax numbers are on the Do Not Call list. I get one or two junk faxes per day on my fax line and maybe three (presumably junk) fax calls per week on my voice line. They all come from blocked numbers and almost always list my phone number in the "from" identifier on the top of the page. Sometimes they give a numbver to be taken off their list which is either always busy or never answered.
