Does the Dell Inspiron 8600 have an eraserhead pointer too?

Check the picture and read the description at Dell. Most of their models don't, but the latitude 600 we just got at work has both and is listed as something like "dual pointers."

We paid extra for the latitude over an inspiron just to get the stick, since my boss hates touchpads.

Also, most (all?) IBMs and a few Toshiba models still include the stick.

AFAIK only the better Dell Latitude's offer dual pointers (eraserhead and touchpad).

correct answer: the older production models of the inspiron 8600 have an eraserhead and a touchpad. if you buy an inspiron 8600 now, it will NOT come with an eraserhead, just a touchpad

Correct. And it's a damn shame.

Eraserheads are FAR superior to touchpads.

I just sold my 8600 and it had both. I hate the eraserhead. I always went too far, then had to come back, then back, it was like homing in on something with a metal detector. By the time I found the link to click it, the internet was out-dated!
