does the cpu fan make a difference?

I have an alpha pal 6035 on my duron. The sunon fan puts out 21 cfs. I saw another cpu fan that puts out 28 cfs. Would this make any difference? thanks

Of course when it comes to air flow, its not only the heat sink's fan that will matter. Whatever needs to be done to get a decent airflow around the case and around the HSF will work best.

In other words, 50cfm fan on an Alpha won't do much good if you don't have a case fan.

120mm 50+cfm drawing in, 38cfm GW fan on an Alpha, 80mm fan sucking from the CPU, plus PS fan seems to do a good job. Can't seem to get my CPU above 40C anymore.

Stick with the sunon, the delta's and other high rpm fans are too frickin loud. I tried a low speed adda 60mm for my alpha but it raised the temp 8C, so I stopped using it, but it was so dang quiet. I have a compromise and use sanyo denki fans, enough air but not loud. These are the fans that came with the slot A alpha cooler.
