Does the base of an LGA775 cooler completely cover a Core i7?

I know Core i7 is larger then Core 2, so I'm debating whether to get one of the LGA775 coolers with a LGA1366 bracket, or to wait for proper LGA1366 coolers. Anyone know if current coolers will cover the entire heat spreader of a Core i7? Is it worth waiting for i7 coolers?

I'm not sure that would be a good idea to be honest. Havent seen anyone try it.

Thermalright Ultra

Why not email them and ask when it will be available ?

Thermaltake has 4 available for the 1366, but not that attractive.

These tech specs are from the Thermalright Ultra Extreme for both sockets.

Socket 1366

Heatsink
Dimension: L133 x W156 x H38 mm
Weight: 790g (Heatsink only)

LGA 775

Dimension: L63.44 x W132 x H160.5 mm
Weight: 790g (Heatsink only)

These specs look really off for some reason for the weight being the same 😕

Here they say for the 1366 bolt thru that it's compatible with "Thermalright all Ultra series".

And here i7 is not mentioned in Processor Compatibility, and from other specs it seems only RT ones accept the 1366 bracket.

/me confused...
