Does the Abit ZM6 mobo support Celeron 700Mhz?

According to Abit site, ZM6 supports FC-PGA Celerons although their FAQ page says that it does not support cC0 stepping FC-PGA Celerons due to some hardware problem.

Celeron 700 comes in both CB0 and CC0 steppings. CB0 (Retai: SL4E6, OEM: SL48F) and CC0(Retail: SL4P2, OEM:SL4P8) so check with your CPU stepping.

On the other hand, I take that the reason that cC0 is not supported is because of a small voltage spec difference, and I have a feeling that cC0 works fine. But don't blame me on this if it does not.

cc0 stepping Celerons have the reset function on CPU pin location AH4 instead of pin X4 on the previous stepping Celerons.

I have jumpered these two pins on my BM6 (very similar to the ZM6) and I am now running a cc0 566 Celeron. This mod should also work for the ZM6.

My good friend Compnut found this useful information while scouring the Celeron spec sheets in support of a BP6/single Celeron 2 mod I was unsuccesfully attempting. I had ordered a 566 Celeron and received a cc0 stepping CPU.

The cc0 566 Celeron would only hit 706 MHz on a slot 1 BX motherboard (Tekram slotket), which was the only machine I had which can support the cc0 Celerons. I wanted to test the cc0 in my main machine (BM6, cb0 Celeron 533) to see if the 566 was a lemon when Compnut found the cb0/cc0 differences and suggested the BM6 jumper.

The cc0 566 is stable at 952 MHz in the BM6 at 1.95 volts. I think the Tekram slotket was holding me back on the slot 1 BX board and am going to try an MSI rev 2 slotket while I gather more information for the BP6 mod.
