does sugar affect acne.

a friend of mine told me not eating lots of refined sugar like sugar in candy or soda, and just sugar in general will make you have less acne.

now , at work we have free soda, and well i was probaby drinking 4 or more cans there plus another 1-2 cans worth outside of work. yeah im addicted.

so i am trying to quit (been 2 days now... hands not shaking yet) to see if there is any evidence of this.

anyone here ever tried this and did it help acne?

and does diet soda ever taste good?

It varies from person to person. My advice is to drink lots and lots of water. This tends to help clear up acne.

You made me laugh so had I almost woke my wife!

LMAO. I laughed so much I think my parents woke up.

First, I smirked at ElFenix. Then Siva and Mik3y just made me lose it 😀

thanks for the tip man!

i found the best way is to lay against a wall with my back against it upside down. trying to pee on my own face was pretty difficult before that.

ElFenix for elite!

I'd certainly say no - my skin is pretty clear, and I'm a refined sugar junkie (my gut can prove that). 😉

there are 3 things that contribute to acne:

abnormal growth of cells that occlude your pores
the presence of bacteria called p. acnes
increased production of sebaceous fluid

there is no mechanism that i know of involving the intake of sugar that would affect those three contributing causes.
