Does staples allow the use of thier giftcards for online purchases?

Title says it all. Want to buy something online so I can use thier coupons, but I also want to be able to use this 25.00 dollar gift card

I believe the gift certificate says, for only in-stores only. What you can do is... go in and use their in-store computeres, buy what you like, enter the coupon code, and at the end, say that you want to pay at the cashier. There'll be a printout of your order, you can take that to the cashier and you should be fine.

I was able to do this about 3 months ago, I don't know if their rules have changed. I know Staples's becoming aware of all the coupons out on the internet.

I tried getting them to take the gift card on-line, but no go. The local store gives me a hassle when I try to use a coupon now. They want to see the coupon or a printout which includes some other verification number or something. Getting harder and harder to get a hot deal anymore...

i went to a store with a printout coupon recently, and they said "i need to see the actual email with headers and stuff"
WTF.. staples is starting to get technical.

And why wouldn't they get technical, do you know how much they are not making because of all the coupons being put on the net? I guess I could try the idea using the in store computer to order online then paying at the cashier, or maybe I will just use the gift card for cartridges or the USB cable, since I am wanting to buy a Lexmark X83. Now though, since I prolly can't use the gift card online, then the question is do i buy from staples or dell, they both end up having coupons and stuff to make the deals sweeter.
