Also do I have to configure it to be a tv monitor first with a regular computer monitor because if so I'll have to get one -.-

Having trouble understanding your post but it sounds like you just need an HDMI cable, not sure why you think that won't work...

BTW Amazon and NewEgg are way cheaper than BestBuy or even WM for HDMI cables...

I have a HDMI to DVI cable but it doesn't seem to put out any video.

Do you know how to switch inputs/sources on your TV? Are you switched over to the correct input for sure?

Okay I think I understand part of your question better now. A TV is no different from a monitor as far as your computer is concerned. You shouldn't need to set anything up first with a monitor, unless something weird is going on with your TV.

Yes I'm on the correct inputs and I'm always looking at the othinputs to make sure. What I think the problem is that I might not have the right cable but I'm not certain like I said I'm using a HDMI to DVI Male cable.

Seems to me it the cable fits at both end it is the right cable. Hmmmm

Does your card have 2 DVI outputs? Try the other one.

My TV has several HDMI inputs, some are hooked up with HDMI but at least one is hooked up with a DVI to HDMI cable and it works no problem....

Ok I'm pretty sure it is working its just not the right resolution maybe or some setting I need to tweak but I cant cause I can't see my computer. I just get a no signal on my tv but yes I did try both of my DVI ports and still nothin. I'm at a loss

You might try a monitor if you can borrow one. Maybe hook it up at the same time. Sometimes the auto detect will mess up and be "out of range". Don't know what else to tell you, sorry.

Hello, and welcome to Anandtech!

Please don't be upset if I'm going to point out that some of the stuff you wrote is hard to understand.

First of all, is this the TV you're talking about? http://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-X320BV.../dp/B004J66GSQ

The description says it's a 720p TV - which is usually interpreted as 1366x768. However, some manufacturers use a slightly lower resolution of 1280x720. That may very well be a problem - can your computer be set up for that resolution instead?

Do you have any other monitor you can connect to your computer? If yes, please see if that one will work. Also keep in mind some TVs are unable to display anything on the screen between the time you power your computer and the moment you go into Windows, because of the lower/non-standard resolution of the BIOS screen.

You should try the VGA port as well... see if this analog signal is properly displayed.

Also, I have a few questions:
Does your computer have a VGA/DVI port on the motherboard? And do you also have a separate video card? Are you sure you're not connecting the TV/monitor to the wrong port?

Thanks everyone but the problem is my motherboard I have to ship it back. Thanks for all your help though guys really do appreciate it.

Huh? That's out of left field. Care to explain your reasoning?

Well I have used several moniters and I still don't get video feed also I have plugged in speakers and waited for a boot sound like the sound of window7 very distinctive and no sound was heard. My audio card is integrated in my MB that reasoning along with no video is pretty conclusive.
