Ive read that it does, i saw a table that says it dosent, only the 6xx series have 64 bit capabilties. I also read it has partial 64 bit thats emulated or somthing and that the 6xx has the real deal.

Does it or does it not have 64 bit capabilites?

5xx series did not have 64 bit extensions. The J just means it has execute disable bit. There were a few exceptions, but they were very rare. There is no partial 64 bit, it either has it, or it doesn't. You could check the Intel website, but 99% chance that you don't have the rare 5xx with 64bit.

5x1 series have the full EM64T instruction set, including the NX bit. The 5xxJ series only support the NX bit and not the full EM64T extensions. More on this, some specific models here (search page for "521", for example).

Yeah, I knew there was something that indicated which ones had 64bit but couldn't remember. They weren't very common. Didn't really think the NX(aka execute disable) had anything to do with 64bit extensions.

EDIT: P.S. you can always look it up with the Intel Processor Spec Finder, which verfies that your's does not have 64bit extensions, but does have execute disable. It's a 3ghz 530J model.
