Does seeing a person swear make you think less of them?

Sometimes.

Not necessarily though, and I wouldn't just judge them on that anyways. More on how they act and treat me and others.
 
swearing doesn't make me think less of them, but, if i notice that they don't or rarely swears makes me think more highly of them.

i'm used to everyone swearing, it doesn't even feel like swearing anymore, but when ppl don't, i feel its pretty impressive.
 
Sometimes.

Some people are able to express themselves very articulately, and then throw in a "fvcking" in order to drive a point home. I like hearing these people the best.

and btw, we "hear" people swear...
 
i just don't like it when my wife says, "******!"

although, there are other times she uses the word in other ways and it's like DAYUM son get me some of that.

edit: oh yeah normal Joes on the street, i don't care if they swear or cuss. i don't really draw conclusions based on that stuff. you can be a foul-mouthed ****** and still have class. there's a time and a place for it. ie. hockey dressing room. ******!
 
Of course if someone hyper-religious, the type that will only talk about religion (usually really judgemental), swear, I think very poorly of them. Usually I don't think too highly of them anyways.

I am a Christian, and I seldom swear myself, but it doesn't bother me (unless it is excessive) when someone else does, unless it is the aforementioned type of person.
 
I usually do all my swearing in Spanish. 🙂

But generally speaking, people who use swear words as adjectives on a regular basis tend to bore me.
 
Here's a funny scenerio that happened to me:

It was a Friday and I was going to Jack in the Box for my lunch break. I had on a dress shirt and tie, which looked quite professional. So as I was walking towards JITB, I got a call from my friend. He asked what I had planned up that weekend and I said "I don't have sh!t, what about you?" just as 2 old ladies were coming out. With me being all dressed up, they were just looking at me in shock at my language. The look on their faces was priceless.
 
I don't like Ghetto speech, either. To be honest, on first impressions alone, it makes me think they are un-edu-macated.

When they can talk properly and speak ghetto as well, I think it is cool. :thumbsup: It is like they are multilingual.
But someone who speaks ghetto all the time gets on my nerves.
Same goes for Bumhower (don't know how to spell it King of the Hill) type speech.

hmm, i think it does in my opinion. actually, it depends on the situation. in personal relationships where you already have established respect and are just shootin' the (sh!t) 🙂P), then i don't care and just view it as being social in that situation. in a professional setting, those who swear commonly in front of higher ups are seen as "grunt" like, and don't take their jobs seriously. i mean c'mon, saying "this sh!t is all fVcked up" to the boss versus "this process may need improvement in this area" are worlds apart.
