funny parady 😀

10/10 😀

I don't know. I've never tried it. I just asked my wife and she said that she doesn't know either...no one has ever read poems to her either.

I think it's just some more Hollywood BS.

I'm not, never have been, into poetry. However I met a guy who is a very good poet, and yeah, there's something to it...

What I found is that the guy has to know, like, and see something particular in the poem, because it's the connection made through the poetry that the girl values, not the random poem itself. So if you find a random piece of pretty poetry, meh, so what? But if there's a poem where a certain line sticks out to you as having something to do with her or your relationship, yeah, she'll probably like it. It's a bit of work though.

I'm not very good at returning the poetry stuff; not enough of a poet to understand most of what I read.

Good lord this place is packed with a bunch of knuckle dragging crotch grabbers.

Way to stay under your rock people.

Yeah poetry does work on both your GF and close friend (girl).

You can't just pick some random stuff. It has to mean something to the girl (when you read the poem it has to jump out at you and touch your heart) and she has to be somewhat of a romantic. This means you really need to knew her (months into the relationship) or if you are really in tune with the girl (you both constantly finish each others sentences) then it will be like magic.

The only time it won't work is if the girl hates romantic stuff. However if you are really into her you would know that by that time and would know what she likes and don't like so you will already know not to bother with poetry if she isn't into that kind of stuff.

um...no, it doesn't work

and please remove your future rig specs, it is very annoying....

I'm not sure what a knuckle-dragging crotch grabber is, but I resent it.

Thank you for revealing that you can be an arrogant insensitive prick. Way to show that your point of view is the right one. I'm "really" convinced you know what you are talking about.

To think you have some sort of "right" to tell someone else what to do to appease you, on a forum no less....

,,I,,

Yes, it does work. Only if done right and to the right type of girl. As others have said, it only works if you know her well already or if you are really sure she'll appreciate such things.

Aelius, I'm guessing you are, what, 19? If you think you know what women like, go ahead and think that, but if you think girls like guys who read poetry to them, good luck with that.

I'm also going to guess that most people on this forum think your future sys rig "sig" is about as manly as poetry is. - I didn't tell you what to do, I asked you - and I said please. I do like the ascii middle finger though - come to think of it, girls like it when you show them stuff you can do with ascii too - trust me on that one.

Ok, I can't resist - you should also show any potential girlfriends your sig, and ask them what they think of your choice on the nForce3 250gb-based mobo, and if they think the Praetorian case is a good choice given the numerous excellent cases to choose from, or - and this one might be the clincher for you - any girl who can tell you what "OCZ PC3700 EB 2X512MB" is may just be your soulmate.

From this thread, I would say most of ATOT, not all however, is preoccupied with being "manly." Logically, most replies to this thread would be a astounding negative with the odd criticism of the "maniless" of members who believe that it is possible to woo using poetry. Poetry is not for all people and for most, it's a bore. However, the question is of possiblity, not probability. So, the answer is yes.
