Alright, as some of you have read, I was like getting a dot per like 20 mins. Well, I get home and it seems I was crankin out the WU's, with the best of my ability with this p2 350. I was like getting a dot every min or so. Now, this goes on for a couple mins. Then I check my mail, ICQ, the forums and some sites then close them all. Now RC5 is back to doing a dot every 20 or 30 mins. So RC5 only works when I'm at school :) aka leave it alone for 8-10 hours. Thx.

You must have something the is eating up the cpu cycles. Do you have some sort of fancy 3d screen saver running, or music playing? Disable active desktop on your PC.

Most likely you were crunching bigger blocks, ie 2^31, and then got a small 2^28 block which will indeed go very fast.

Keyrate isn't affected, just the size of the blocks may vary according to your configuration settings (2^32 and 2^33 sized blocks must be set in the -config) and what the keyserver doles out.

Your lack of speed is definately block size. It's not a bad thing(you still doing the same number of keys per second), but it makes the meter seem slow.

Thanks. So I guess at school when its automatticly downloading / uploading its taKIng smaller blocks and for some reason when I'm Home its taking bigger blocks. Guess it just doesn't like when I;m home :p

The size of the blocks is fixed = 2^28 keys. 1 packet may contain from 1 to 32 blocks. Smaller blocks look better but cause more network trafic and much more load for the stats server. Do not forget that at your stats you see blocks and not packets.
