Does RAM randomly just go bad?

I had the PC3200 Ballistix in my PC for about a month and all was well, memtest ran at the settings it was on for over 12 hours. No problem.

Recently I decided to lower the settings a little and I got an error right away at the same spot (819mb). I tried running on everyyyyy setting and get errors almost instantly.

I can't even run it stock without errors. I run one stick at a time and they are fine but together gives me errors. If I run it overclocked it crashes in games after 15 min but so far on stock speeds it has been fine (no crashes i can remember) but memtest still errors.

Did you install any other hardware? (Could cause a PSU problem)

Did you change anything else besides the RAM timings?

Are you overlocking the CPU?

Does the motherboard have any exploded caps?

Are your motherboard and CPU temps OK?

everythings fine, i was only running at 2400mhz cpu (on my winchester 3500+) i think like 240x10 with 2.7v (the rams rated up tp 2.8v)

beat me too it as long as you don't do something to void the warranty it is lifetime guaranteed(will see about that when I have it for 3 years and it dies)

KxK

oh yea they gave me an RMA already..... im just wondering if god hates me or not, or if memtest can be wrong

on stock speeds games run fine no crashes, but still get memtest error instantly on 3 tests. is that normal?
