Hi,

I was putting my new system together today and when I did my initial test (first boot up), the startup screen said that my RAM type was PC1600, when the RAM's label says PC2100. Now, am I suppose to set something on my motherboard, or does the RAM always auto-detect meaning that I got ripped off, and I was given PC 1600 RAM instead of PC 2100? My motherboard is Epox 8KHA+ , my ram is samsung.
Please help! Thanks!

Set your FSB to 133 via jumper, unless you are using a CPU that doesn't have 133 FSB, like older TBird or Duron. If it's a 100 FSB then the RAM will run at PC1600, if you are using 133 FSB TBird or AXP the like Oracle said set it to 133, but you'll jumper it on the motherboard instead of the BIOS.

He can still just go into bios and change it.

It had been my understanding that it's more stable done via jumper than the BIOS.
