Geez, why do I get the feeling there's a bunch of non-smokers replying to this thread??
Technopro gave about the best answer, and hit precisely what happened to me when I quit ~7 months ago, after ~23.5years of a pack a day smoking habit. For me, it took about 3 weeks, then my sense of smell and taste came back, with a
vengeance!!!
Luckily, I had been dropping weight before I quit, so when I suddenly had hunger cravings after quitting smoking, I was just packing back on the pounds I had recently lost. Now I'm working on trying to get rid of those again (tho it was so much easier when I could satisfy a hunger pang with a smoke!!

).
Your best bet is to find healthy munchies to satisfy your hunger, versus the junk that is so much easier to buy and have handy. And keep up the good work on quitting.....it only gets easier the longer you go without, tho you'll probably have cravings for some time to come (I still have an occasional craving, but it's a LOT easier now to say NO). Keep up the workouts, eat healthy, and by the time you're an old fart, like me, you'll be so much better off than if you hadn't done all of that. Good luck!!
