i know alot of people are worried about frying gpu's and cpu's, but has anyone ever hurt their ram by overclocking it (whether it be voltage or fsb increase). is it even possible to hurt ram?
It is possible but I don't think it is usual as normally an over oc'd ram won't boot into windows... al least that's what happens when I oc it more than it can.
shouldn't make much of a difference, I mean.... it might shave some life off of it, but who cares if instead of lasting 20 years, it only last 18years... Voltage increases though, like on anything, are much harder on the component.
wow heat in ram ive been running my pc133(cas3!) at 157mhz cas2 and it runs cold and stable. maby i just got lucky. running ram a little past what its ment to be is ok.well i dont have ddr so i cant say any thing about it,but i know a voltage increase of to much could kill it for sure.
