I have been wondering if you run your CPU and Mobo out of spec at ridiculously high frequencies if they can cause data errors to you HDDs. What other errors can OCing cause?

Thanks for the input

I crashed a HD once, just by trying to boot at 166fsb. I've heard of other cases also. What FSB are you running at?

It can also affect your RAM, hard drive and cards.

Since you asked about overclocking causing Data Errors, yes, it certainly can. We've had reports over in the Distributed Computing forum of members finding the SETI@Home client erroneously completing work units in unreal times of just a few minutes, when the client should've taken hours. ;)

I wouldn't expect an overclocked bus to cause physical problems for a hard drive, but certainly the data integrity could be compromised.
