I got a stick of Crucial 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-3200 8T - OEM for $72 a few months ago. I'd like to get another for X-mas but it's $81 ATM at newegg. Does RAM usually drop in price after X-mas or am I just wishful thinking?

Also, as long as a get pc 3200 with 3 cas would it be ok to use different brands? If so I'd like some recomendations on which brands are good to get.

Thanks

You can get a used stick and should be cheaper than buying new. I have never had a problem mixing sizes or brands. Even in dual channel I never had a problem doing that. So, just find a stick of memory that has similar specs. It can be cas2 or whatever, but it will run at whatever timings your slower stick runs at.
