I've been blessed with an exceptional memory. I had kids. #1 was born 21 years ago as of this Feb. The other, about 19 1/2 years ago.

Thanks to my exceptional memory, I don't miss having babies in the house.

why don't you consider adopting?

there are people out there who need help and you can make a difference in their life

Do they come with a warranty? I would totally adopt a kid if it had perfect genes and no illnesses and stuff. I would not be down with adopting a kid, finding out it has downs, then not being able to return it.

There's lot of other shit they could trick me with. They could give me a polished baby with spinning rims then be like "oh btw he can't eat gluten. have fun with your new babby!"

That's a real condition btw. People who can't eaten das gluten are totally fucked for life. They can't eat bread, pizza, anything else containing bread (cake), or anything else. Basically you can't feed them anything. It's basically on the same level as giving you a baby with autism and arthritis and HIV all at the same time.

Yea.. It would probably be a good idea if you weren't responsible for a child in the near future.

I hear ya brah. I think adoption is a wonderful thing done by good people for kids in need, but you do have to be ready for anything. :)

Ive considered adoption myself, but I would want to be married first and so far it hasnt happened.

Yes, as down the road my fiancée and I may not be able to. Not that we aren't both fertile, but she has epilepsy. The meds she must take for her particular form can cause some pretty bad birth defects. Going off those meds can cause her to have a siezure that would kill both of them. Hopefully by the time we are ready, we will have better options available.

I recently hit a milestone. My youngest just turned 33 and made me a great meal and I didn't have to cook anything! I think she's starting to pay off. :D

When we first got married the wife and I did think about not having kids. We waited until we where married for 4 years before we had kids. I married her when she was 22 and I was 26. She wanted to be done with being pregnant by the time she was 30 so we now have 2 kids and no more plans to have any. I always find it funny the woman that I see at work that get married and the a year later they are out on maternity leave. I tell people if possible let your marriage mature some before you decided to ad kids to the Mix. Overall I couldn't imagine my life without them. It has its up and downs but there is a lot more upside.

This is good advice and a wise choice you made. Too bad people dont follow good advice most of the time. :|

This. Thanks for over populating the world so someone can carry on your name. Now I get to sit in traffic jams everywhere I go and wait in insane lines at every store.

Could always move to Alaska. It has the lowest population density.

I'm 27 now and no kids. Every once in a while the husband and I go to his siblings' houses and see all the little nieces and nephews, usually with another one on the way and I look at all the cuteness and learning to read and tiny babies and when we leave I turn to my husband and say....

THANK YOU for not ever making me pregnant!!!!! :p

We have 2 kids and I could not imagine being childless.

We would have more if it fit into our other plans (and I was not so old).

The only way I would tolerate kids is if they'd come with an easily-accessible on/off switch.

There's no desire to have them otherwise.

I'd have kids, lots of em, if I was a fat ugly poor woman with no job and Uncle Sam would pay me to babysit them while I watch Jerry.
