Does Norton Ant-Virus 2002 Home Edition support Automatic updates of Virus DEFS??

I feel like this is a dumb question, but........

I have NSW 2002 Pro, and It has the Norton Live Update feature, but isn't this only a program you have start yourself? What I'd like is to have NAV 2002 just grab the newest Virus defs. off of the web automatically when ever they are available on-line. Is this possible, or is this only available to corporate customers in the Enterprise/Corporate Editions? Or do I have to enable the Norton Live Update to start-up, at windows start-up? Or is Norton Live Update, just for updating the NSW suite?

Liveupdate should start automatically.

we have NAV at school, i think it is the home version and it does auto update.

NAV 2002 does have the automatic live update, you just have to make sure you have the settings set so it is enabled. You don't have to configure liveupdate to run at startup, but you do have to have NAV start at startup (you don't have to run a scan at that time). It will automatically grab the latest posted updates. That feature is not one that is limited to the corporate version - the home version has it. I have a copy of it on CD someplace, so if you have problems let me know and I'll install it and give you a walk through.

Almost forgot... Live Update is not for any one specific product of theirs, and will update whatever you have installed.

Also ensure that the program is configured to allow automatic updates, right click on the norton auto protect in the system tray and click open norton antivirus....the option will be in there.
