Does nforce2 support future Athlons?

Some of the current nForce2 boards are not recommendable for future 400MHz DDR FSB barton processors (future athlon) because they do not lock the PCI bus at 33MHz and do not have a 1/6 PCI divider. Only A7N8X Deluxe, Chaintech 7NJS and Abit NF7-S are recommendable because of this. The asus A7n8X deluxe is the best choice.

Pops.

400MHz DDR FSB barton chips? Does it include a 1/6 PCI divider? Over at overclockers.com, they are saying that the epox 8rda+ has a 1/5 divider max.

That lousy Epox cheap assed crap probably supports 333mhz Barton only...I highly doubt that it will be able to handle a 200mhz Barton should AMD goes that route.

You, my friend, are going to be lynched by Epox fanboys here😉. Better tone down the rhetoric....

Nah...he is doing fine all by himself....😉

"Cheap assed crap" indeed.

BIOS updates will make it a reality for practically every nForce2 board - Epox is just first to the table.

You're right Insane...some people just make it too easy. I'll pass this time.

No doubt 🙂.

Cool! Now I can replace my dead Abit KT133 and keep my Athlon 1.2 until the Bartons come out. Thanks for the info everyone.
