Ever since I upgraded to my nForce2 mb (from my SiS735), the usb mouse has become very laggy. The motion is no longer smooth, it 'hops' around when moved. I did a search on google, and a ton of german websites come up for "nforce2 usb problem", and they all talk about ehci and ohci usb controllers. Some sites had reverences to a "nforce2 usb patch".

Does the nForce2 have known issues with usb devices? Is there a patch to fix this?

FWIW, I have noticed this behaviour before with my Soltek 75FRN2-L (nForce2) and Microsoft Wireless Optical mouse, but it's not consistent. For the most part, it works perfectly, but sometimes it acts up.

I too have noticed some hopping or lagging with my Nforce2 (Biostar) board and my wireless (USB) Microsoft mouse. However, I can't necessarily attribute the hopping to this or to something else as I only really noticed it after I put in a RAID card.

I would be hestitant to blame the nForce2 chipset first as well... it seems if I press the button to change the "channel" of the wireless mouse, the problem appears to go away.

FWIW also.. I have the same mobo as you, and I think you solved your own problem :p

But the problem does recur every once in a while... I am still not 100% sure of it being the fault of the mouse, but for now, the problem isn't that big of a deal.
