i know there website says that they dont and ive talked to a few people on the phone and they said no, but has anyone here ever had newegg match a price for them. Im banking on maybe talking to a manager and seeing if theyll do it for me.

If your wondering why i want to do this is because i want to put this projector http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16824187099 on my newegg preferred account for no payments for 12 months. Its $1000 a lot of other places and neweggs got it for $1400 for some reason. for example, J&R and visual apex both have it for $999.

 
Yes, but there's a secret to it.
It had to be a phone order, not online.
Tell them that you work for the Nerd Herd and "Chuck" told you to call.
Then tell them the other stores price.
 
If you chat online with them they won't pricematch, but sometimes they will make a one time "price adjustment". All depends on who you get. I've gotten free shipping, a few bucks off that order or my next order... i doubt they'd do anything too major though. What are you trying to pricematch?

He's serious, I've done that exact thing before and it worked for me, saved me $120 on a laptop

CSRs never hang up on customers long as they are polite and genuine. Start a sentence with, "Well, gimme it for free or I'll take my business elsewhere.." and BOOM, three seconds later you are on the Spanish IVR.
 
I got a CSR to drop $20 off a motherboard once to "pricematch" zzf, it wasn't easy, but not too hard either, Just about 10 minutes of my time.
 
cool, it just sounds like I should have called back and talked to someone else last time i called. The most the person would offer me was to make my shipping free, which really doesnt make up for the $400 extra they charge.

So what are my chances of getting them to match that price? 1400 to 1000.

yeah, just buy it at the other stores.

Use a CC w/ 0% interest for 12 mo or something.

If that doesn't work, don't buy it as it sounds like you don't really have the money to afford it anyway.
