Does Newegg delete negative product reviews?

I didn't say most of the reviews were bad, just multiple ones. Look at the most recent ones, from the last 2 months. Notice that the bad comments are hidden in 4 and 5 star reviews there. Maybe people have discovered that Newegg won't delete your comments if you mask them with a high rating, heh heh. Also consider how many people probably don't test RAM if things actually "work", and may not know for a while that they're experiencing data corruption. There are also some threads on forums.mushkin.com with the same problems.

Come to think of it, I hardly ever see negative reviews on Newegg.
Do they really do that?

I see negative reviews on just about every product I look at, and if it's not "negative" they at least mention a specific problem they had which was quickly rectified by Newegg. Most of the time though it's stuff like "x happened so I RMA's and they sent me a new one, thanks newegg!" or "I don't like y about this product but it was worth the money"... *Shrugs*

They didn't post my review of a supposedly five star DVD burner, when I mentioned how noisy it was. I wouldn't have purchased it if I had been warned, but the damn thing had about 75 four and five star reviews, with narry a mention of the noise issue.

There are a lot of smaller items there that only have one review and it's a really negative one. I've always admired Newegg for doing that, although it must kill sales on certain items.

You just have to couch your complaint properly. If you slam the product, you're not going to get posted. You have to be like
"Excellent burn quality, but was too noisy for my HPTC. Would stongly reccommend that anyone concerned with noise levels consider a different model"

Edit: which is weird, if you think about it, because how is some chinese editor going to parse the relative politeness of an english review...

IIRC they will delete blatantly negative reviews, like 'THIS PRODUCT SUCKS DON'T BUY IT GO TO HELL' and that kind of thing.

"This mouse isn't as nice as I expected. First off, the drivers that came with the mouse crashed windows xp on startup after installing them. After I downloaded drivers, it works, but it's still pretty bad. The motion on the tracker ball is horrible. I had a cheap logitech trackerball in the past, and this is much worse. If you're going to get an expensive mouse, get a logitech mx 700."

There are 3 positive reviews after mine (4 total, I'm first and the first one after mine is about a year later). Perhapse they made a new version of the product.

I recommended a Kensington Expert Mouse Pro Trackball to my girlfriend's parents for their adopted son (4 yrs old with cerebral paulsy) to use since they wanted a big ball for him to use. The ball rubbed against the big indentation it sad in so that it would work perfectly half the time but get stuck quite often and friction would make it very difficult to control.

Newegg's official policy is that they do whatever they want(i.e. pull negative reviews from being seen) though reviews usually still count for the overall star average, with the common claim being that they do this because of problems related to products being smeared by competitors.

"Making buying decisions based solely on these reviews is not recommended. more info...
Newegg.com is not a forum for product reviews. For product reviews, we recommend sites such as www.cnet.com, www.anandtech.com, and www.tomshardware.com. Newegg.com is a private site that conducts the business of selling computer hardware and as such, any specifications and information posted by Newegg.com regarding products for sale must be factual. However, customer comments in regards to their experience with said products are the opinions of the user. "

I think they just recently added that little bit.

Newegg is misleading customers by only allowing so-called positive reviews...in response to that last sentence from the poster above.

I remember posting a review on New Egg, it was'nt even negative. Something about a Video Card. It was sold out at the time & was set at around $415.00. When it arrived back in stock it was $20.00+Higher (EVGA6800gt) I had an order placed for the card but canceled and paid $400. from EVGA.

I just stated what happened and my so called review was not posted. It's just that they raised the price $20.+ right after it arrived back in stock Screw That!
