Does my system meet the requirements for F.E.A.R

Well, I got FEAR today and installed it. Gamewise its cool, graphically I do not see why it needs such high HW demands. I have a P4 prescott, 2gigs ram, Ati X800 XT according to the box I am at or around the recommended settings except double the mem and better vid card. I ran everything at maximum settings with 4x AA and AF but I cant get the resolution higher than 1280x960x32, which is a whacky res. The only outstanding graphics are shooting the bad guys. Awesome. But other than great gameplay, I dont see anything visually spectacular. IMO.
