Hi all,

well i finally got the heatsink i was waiting for to build my comp when i happened to notice something on my motherboard (dfi lanparty ut 250gb). There is a cylinderical shaped silver component on its side with some green goo under it. As far as i can tell, it doesnt look like any capacitor ive ever seen and the component doesnt look ruptered or leaking.....is the green goo supposed to be there to hold it in place or something? The goo isnt on any other connections and looks like its in its own little spot.... so i dunno if its supposed to be there or not.

anyone with the lanparty have the green goo?

My highly effective spidey sense tells me that, that shouldn't be goopy and green, ya sure you didn't drop some half chewed gummie bears on it? - let this serve as a bump

thats fine, alon of times a motherboard will have a loose part during testing so they secure it to make sure it doesn't brake off. as for the part that it is holding, i'm not sure what it is but i have seen it on other motherboards, including every DFI Lanparty UT 250GB motherboard i have ever seen.
