Does memtest work with ECC Registered RAM?

I just purchased a bunch of 1GB PC2100 (Reg. ECC) for some Dell servers. When I run memtest, it immediately fails with errors. I tried Microsoft's memory diagnostic and that failed as well. The machine runs fine in Windows but I can't seem to test the RAM.

I ran memtest on a different (known, good) server and it failed the test as well.

Yes, Memtest should work with ECC ram, though I do not think it tests the ECC features.

On this screenshot, ECC is acklnowledged but disabled:

Odd that Memtest would fail a working server.....
