Does Macy sell good watches?

I would imagine you could buy a freakishly high priced nice watch at Macy.

And a lot of things in between.

Not sure what the question really is.

I don't have time to do research on sites like Amazon or other big-name stores that sell watches. I have to get a watch by tomorrow.

I just want to know if the pricing is competitive.

Never have seen someone in need of a watch on short notice before.

Are you someones traveling butler or something ? If so you should know better I guess.

Brietlings I'd think would be good in general. It doesn't seem you're looking for a Rolex.

The whole question is to vague to answer.

If you have a Costco membership, just walk in and buy something. Once you have time to find a better one, take it back. Or maybe find something there you like and just keep it. I know the stores here have some luxury uber pricey ones, Rolex etc.

Their "sale prices" are more or less the same prices those same watches sell for every day...there and at other stores.

That being said, they USUALLY have decent, professional-looking watches...but only at "normal retail" prices...not any great deals. (professional looking is a pretty generic term. Professional for what kind of environment?)

Of course, inventory may vary by store...and so might any kind of "clearance" stuff they offer.

Explain your need and people will be better able to guide you. But, in general, department stores are the worst place to buy a watch because they're super expensive, have poor selection, and the salesperson doesn't know anything about watches.

Why the rush? I actually found a really nice looking watch at Steinmart that had no branding whatsoever for $9.99. It keeps terrible time, but looks much more expensive than $10. A lot of companies make junk these days and mark up the price **cough** Invicta **cough**. Steel bands, cheap cut metal, etc... I like a moderate Seiko with a Titanium band....there are many other brands out there that cost a lot more money...

As others have said, the department stores are the worst places to get a watch unless you really figure out a way to pile on some discounts. I was able to get my first Seiko somewhere around $150 (MSRP ~$400) but only by stacking sale+CC discount+employee discount.

If you're just looking for a quick, decent looking watch, then I'd recommend going and buying something lower end at a Marshalls or similar discount store. You can probably find a decent looking Fossil, Kors, maybe even Nixon. It's pretty obvious you don't give a shit about watches so I wouldn't spend more than $200 or so.

Long as you use coupons you can get it priced better than Amazon or some of the web retailers.

I'd also look at Jomashop although it seems like you need it today. Just comes without a factory warranty - so far, haven't had any issues yet.

I got a nice Tissot off of Jomashop. They have great prices. As long as the item is legit I see no worries about a factory warranty

I've never seen a Rolex at Costco, but weirdly they do sell a couple of Jaeger-Lecoultre watches, including this beauty which I fully intend to own at some point - http://www.costco.com/Jaeger-LeCoul...ther-Strap-Men's-Watch.product.100244452.html
