Does lots of exersize without much food cause shaking/trembling?

All I have eaten today was a bowl of cereal and a cheap meal from McDonalds. I have been skating all day really hard (sweating profusely). Now that I am sitting down my arm wont stop trembling and shaking, I cant stop it!
I have been drinking enough water though so I dont think its dehydration. Is it a lack of carbs or glucose?

Yes. It can be a symptom of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). You need to keep your body fueled, even if you are on a diet.

This doesn't mean you need sugar before the fact. But some simple sugar carbs now would help kill those symptoms.

Next time, snack throughout the day or at least drink some sports drinks.

The muscle being worked, yes, but in this guy's case I think his whole body is shaky and he needs some sugar!

yep, have something to eat.

I have type 2 diabetes (Pill, not the shot). And if I wait too long to eat lunch, I get that way. Really bites when you're on the job and start to get weak and shakie.

I had a cup of instant cereal in the morning and did 1/2 hr running + 2 hrs swimming with couple of isotonic canned drinks in between. I have to say my stamina dropped to 60-70% my usual. Then again I only recently recovered from 2 weeks of back and neck pain.

Some real nice suggestions here. I did eat some more shortly after posting this thread. The shaking slowly went away. Maybe I should drink some more sports drinks instead of just water to replentish any lost salts. Its a shame eating healthy these days costs more than eating junk. I hate making the mistake of buying fruit and having it go bad after 4 days.

It does to me. But it does take quite a bit to get that way.

Yeah, but that's only if you fatigue your muscles. If your muscles shake soon after exertion, then you're quite outta shape.

As for the shaking after excercising and the lack of food. You HAVE to eat if you're going to work out. If you do not, then it will take energy from the current fat OR muscle. Without energy, it will usually eat away at your fat first, but if you do it constantly it will eat away at your muscle for protein/energy and does more harm than good. You really, really need to eat while / before you work out.
