Yup. They replaced my cousins mouse after it died outside of its warranty, at no cost.

You can't get service like that at MS.

PS: he told them repeatedly that it was no longer under warranty.

You can't? Hmm I've had a few items replaced from MS without ever worrying about it being out of warranty. Shouldn't judge a company on something you don't have first hand experience with.
