Does Liveware need to be installed for a SBLive to work properly??

It is possible to only load the drivers and nothing extra. Thats exactly how win2k first loaded my oem live card, after which I loaded the drivers from soundblaster.

nopes, you don't need it, and yes, the liveware contains nothing but crap you don't need i don't use it and have no problems

When I install Liveware I just do a custom install and only select the drivers. Everything works fine and I don't have all that crap

Wizkid: the liveware is a 30 Mb download whereas the drivers alone are 5 Mb, that's why most people ask before they get the Liveware

I need liveware or else only 2 of my speakers work. I thought that was odd, but I guess I need it.

Why does everyone think Liveware is junk? I mean, I need most of the things in the utilities, I listen to MIDI and MP3 a lot the EAX settings and soundfont is essentially important to me. The speaker and mixer settings is not only well designed, but looks cool too.

I get Liveware only because I have a cable modem probably. But it is pretty cool when you play around with the EAX stuff. I got a 4 speaker (plus sub) setup and playing around with the sound by moving it around the guy in the chair is pretty neat. I like that frequency shifter (don't remember where it was located) too!

Hey, ltk007, what speakers do you have? I have a SB Live and the Altec Lansing ACS54's. Only my two front speakers work. Would I need Live Ware to get my other two satellites to work? Thanks.
