Does liquor have a "soothing effect" on your stomach?

My late night binging has been giving me acid reflux lately. Which is frightening because my recovering alcoholic father died of esophageal cancer, acid reflux being one of the precursors.
 
Liquor: yes. I can drink quite a bit and feel better. Too much of course has the opposite effect.

Beer: no. Half a beer makes me very queasy.
 
actually for me it really does- if I feel sick, usually a drink or 2 will make me feel much much better- specially on an empty stomach...sounds weird but just yesterday I was feelin kinda sick but was at a restaraunt- ordered a couple rum and cokes before the food and by the time the food came I was feelin good and was hungry.
works after eating too.
and I've never vomited from drinking (and yes, I've drank waaaaay too much - black outs, passing out etc etc etc)
 
Doesn't affect my stomach one way or the other. Too much can give me a bad case of the toots the next day though 😱
