Does KaZaA suck?

Or is it just me?

I swear, I have yet to be able to download anything in it's entirety. And most of the time I'm endlessly put in queue... :|

I can't figure out how to share files. I once got seven files to share, but the next thime I started the program they were gone and I was back to sharing zero files. I don't like to download if I don't have anything to offer too.

All spyware sucks!

If you have Kazaa, run a search on the hard drive for "pokemon". You'll be surprised what you find. Now, try to delete it! You can only delete it in the registry editor.

I get a ton of Remotely Queues as well. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, like a ton of people are leeching files so I'm put in line, or a ton of people simply don't want to give up their upload bandwidth so they don't allow it.

Utterman, whether checked or unchecked I still can't share. Seems the program is looking in E: and that's a cd drive.

I have not had any problems with Kazaa Lite. I can share files and download fine. The first time I shared a directory it did take some time and a couple restarts of Kazaa to get it to recognize the files but then it was no problem. Also, the downloads are a lot faster than the old Morpheus. I usually get around 100KB/s or so and not too many Remotely Queued files.

no, you suck. in all seriousness though, with Kazaa lite, I get speeds of over 70kbs with a shared connection of only 520kbs between 4 pcs.

Kazaa stinks, even with the hacks it ended up hosing a perfectly stable Win2k install, I ended up having to restore an image and for all the trouble didn't really end up getting anything.

I have about 30 "more sources needed" in process. None have been downloading the past 2 days I've been running it. Only one file was completed. Something is definitely wrong here, I never had this noncompleted files with Morpheus.

No pokemon for me and I too have Kazaa and love it. I most of the time have 6 to 8 DL going at the same time.

<< I also get a ton of those "more resources' and "remotely queued" things! What's up with that? >>

More resources is a programming bug. Remotely queued just means that you are trying to suck from someone who already has the maximum number of people sucking from him already according to how he has his preferences setup. That's not Kazaa's fault.

Ever since Morpheus got separated from the network, KaZaA does not have very much to offer.

I suggest that you try Gnucleus -- it is a great open-source client for the Gnutella network. It's much better than KaZaA and the Gnutella network has much more stuff to offer, especially now that all Morpheus users have been moved to this network.

I love it, because I can find (and download successfully) anything I want.
