I have Absolut and Tito's and I can definitely tell the difference. BTW, Tito's Handmade Vodka is awesome!

Absolut for mixed drinks, Chopin for shots.

Smirnoff 100 proof for the company.

I think brand of OJ matter more than brand of vodka when it comes to a screwdriver. Many like SunnyD are just too sweet
I like Donald Duck OJ and Gordons Berry Vodka myself :D

Cheap vodka will still tear you up, but it seems a waste to mix top-shelf vodka. I'd use middle-of-the-road vodka like Absolut or Tanqueray. Actually, Tanqueray would be perfect because it's SO GOOD yet still pretty cheap.

LOL...I had Takka once and will not touch that crap again. Oh God, that hangover was almost as bad as the time I manage to give myself alcohol poisoning.

Yes it matters. Since screwdrivers (or variants of them) are pretty much all I drink I can say that cheap stuff can give you a very nasty aftertaste. Lots of times it can be covered up if you add some other juices or flavors. Pineapple usually does a good job of killing it (not much just a bit) or sometimes grenadine for that sunrise effect. Then again I've never had really good vodka either, only mid grade stuff.

The oj also matters. I tend to have sunnyd cus thats what my roomate has for breakfast, but different juice will make a difference.

I'm the opposite... if i'm doing shots, i can go for the cheap stuff, since it goes down so quick. But if i'm mixing it like a screwdriver, i'll want something nice so it's smoother.
