Does it matter how fast the cpu is if the phone only has 1gig ram?

snapdragon 210 quad core 32bit cpu is ~50% slower than the snapdragon 410 quad core 64bit cpu.

but if the phone is limited to 1gig ram, does it matter that much?

Yeah, because it will have to open and reload things more frequently.

I wouldn't buy an Android phone today without 3GB of RAM. I love Android but it's a ram pig. To be honest though iOS needs at least 2GB in a phone (aka alot of desktop RAM ten years ago) to run optimally. It's just the price of progress.

Some people don't care to spend $300 on a phone to get 2gb or more.

And yes, you will see a speed and battery life difference with the 410. 210 is out dated.
