well i have a MSI Neo2 Platinum and i already have 2x512 kingmax cas2.5 ram.

if i add another 2x512 another brand of ram in the mobo making it 2gigs of ram would it matter? or would it be better?

It will pose no problems, but try sticking with RAM that has the same timings... Doesn't need to be KingMax... 2 gigs are better than one yeah... 😉 However, I hope you have a Venice or X2 CPU, because otherwise, the RAM could be downclocked to DDR333...

Mixing RAM is generally not advised. In some cases it can work but it can also lead to alot of problems. Its considered wiser to stay to same brand and type. 939 mobos can be very picky about RAM modules. Not all RAM is compatible with all mobos. Gone are the days when you could put in any brand RAM into the boards as long as it met the requirements. Example PC2100, PC2700, PC3200, and etc. Today's mobos can be very finicky with what works with them and what doesnt so now you need to research carefully what modules works with which mobo model you have or plan to get.

I work with two different brands (Kingston and GeIL) of RAM in one of my comps (with Socket 939 of course), and it gives me dual channel... I have never encountered any stability problems whatsoever...

These are 2x 512MB sticks however, so YMMV if you're going to use all four of your memory slots... You could get into troubles there, not because of the memory, but b/c of the CPU and mobo not being able to handle it very well (downclocked mem etc.)...

If it's possible to stick with the same KingMax modules, I would do so, but otherwise the memory itself should be fine...
