Parties are always a good networking oppurtunity. Especially with a gf/wife, you often times meet people who would be otherwise hard to approach just because your gf/wife met their gf/wife in the bathroom/in line at the bar/etc.

It depends. If you all work in the same office under the same Supervisor in can be, but if you work in different Dept's it can be just fine.

It won't look bad at all if you go alone.

And you will only feel weird if you are self conscience of being alone. I doubt anyone will care or even notice.

And the company party is usually about getting together in a non-work environment and relaxing... not scrutinizing who does and does not have a partner.

It's kind of funny because most of the people at my company aren't married and don't want to bring their SO's because it'd be a serious damper on the atmosphere. We also drink after 5 at work and play foosball all the time too though...
