Does it ever bother you when someone posts exactly what you posted and gets a reply?

So I see this all the time in threads. Someone will post a reply and get totally ignored then someone else will post basically exactly the same thing and will get replies. Does it bother you when this happens to you?

It totally does.

Sometimes. You should really make a poll. I'd be interested in seeing what everyone else thinks.

I don't think I've ever noticed that. When did it happen?

guyver01, I'm disappointed in you. That question is so lame I'd expect it to come from someone like Froot Loops or Locut0s.

this has never happened to me. I don't even care enough about my own posts to notice someone else 'stealing my thunder'.

I have spent a few days vacationing here and a few folk blip on my radar. You are one of them. I don't remember why at the moment but you doubtless have said things I find intelligent or insightful and this is another example.

What you say here happens to me all the time. One way to look at it of course is that because I say what is true, some other folk are bound to see the same thing too.

Another viewpoint is that there is noting new under the sun and everything has not only been said but gets said many times.

Also, if folk read a thread their thoughts will be triggered by associations and what you have said may trigger thoughts in the later poster he picked up from someone else unconsciously.

There can also always be folk who steal.

And doubtless there are yet other possibilities going on like the fact that the person didn't read the thread and the person responding only read a few posts back.

Does it bother me. I thing it does. I think I even commented recently to somebody who said what I said that I wished I'd thought of that. I didn't get a response though. Hehe. Maybe we should copyright our posts and take people to court.

At any rate I compensate for the oversight and say to myself the replied to somebody else who said what I said because they are afraid of me.

Those of us who know we hate ourselves know that creates emotional needs. Feeling worthless and empty we seek credit and notoriety. I want my post acknowledged, not some other guy's. But strangely, I want the first to say something to also get some credit. This doesn't just apply to me.

Mostly you have to laugh your ass off at being a human.

As to whether it bothers me, it does

It's the fucking internet...who cares.
Concerning this trivial topic, I agree. But in general, not so much. Employers and potential employers care what you do on the webs now. Moving beyond just checking your facebook and such too. I have recently seen an article where a police dept. is trying to make applicants provide a list of the places they frequent on the net, and even their user names and other personal data.

My point is this: The dismissive and uncaring attitude many exhibit towards their online behavior, may some day, in the not-to-distant future, bite them in the ass.

I don't go on the internet. The occasional Google search for a rice pudding recipe, but that's about it ;^)

It bothers me when I post something that gets ignored and people continue discussing the wrong thing which my post addressed and corrected.

What gets me pissed more than being ignored for something is when I correct something and folk go right on discussing the mistakened idea.

But what this thread should be about, I think, is how some folk say want somebody else just said and then get all the attention.
