Does it annoy you when people go LOL or similar when posting?

When people put lol/rofl/lmao in the middle of a sentence, or as part of a sentence, it really bugs me. It looks stupid, and the way ATOT works, they generally look like jerks.

E.G.: read NewsMonster's posts in the second and third pages. The lols just make him look even more stupid.

When the LOL or the ROFL or whatever is separate, I'm not bugged as much - like, when people read one of Brutuskend's rare good jokes (;)) and respond with
LOL
I'm fine. But when people try to integrate it into sentences, that just ticks me off.

Argh, this OP was way too long. But I didn't really know how to explain why it ticked me off, and I can't figure out how to do it in less words.

Would you rather people say "Wow, that was midly funny and it made me laugh out loud."

I prefer when people reply with "that witty and comedic comment has caused me to fall out of my sitting tool and defecate in copius laughter"

I hate those little web abbreviation things - WAAAY overused. People use them as a crutch.

Only when excessive, or midsentence. I'm always puzzled on if I shoul add filler to a post when I have nothing more to say except to remark that it was funny.

Speaking of which, on the back of my Reeses' Puffs box, there is a freaking "decipher the kiddy leet" and "can you tell what these vaguely face-like pagan symbols mean" game.

I'm so scared what it'll be like in a few more years.... :frown:
