IE8 that came with windows 7 rtm does not keep my logged in on both my desktop and my laptop. I have changed the security settings to medium, and cookie settings to low with no effect.
Everytime I reboot, I have to relog into most sites.
I miss the days where I'd stay logged in for months at a time.
 
My iGoogle stays on. It relates to cookies generally. The stay on link is a cookie. Sounds like something is deleting some of your cookies. Check your firewall and AV settings.
 
OK - you are right. I checked three systems with IE8. Vista and XP keep me logged on in Anandtech and everything else. Win 7 keeps me loggen on to everything except Anandtech Forum. That requires a logon with every close/open sequence. What is happening between Win7 IE8 and Anandtech forum?
 
i dunno, check cookie/security settings, esp if there is an exception option where you can ad anandtech.
generally ies good with this type of stuff, you can even have multiple logins going at the same time on a website with the new session feature
