Does hitting the 32bit ram limit affect performance?

Im well aware that 32bit Vista will not take full advantage of 4gb ram, however im wondering if me putting 4gb in will affect performance negatively in any way. Ram is so damn cheap right now, i can get another 2gb for about $60, which not only does increase my current usable ram, it also gets me set up well for Vista 64bit if i ever feel the need.

Im just wondering if the memory limitations will hit some weird performance decrease.

Thanks guys!

I can't think of any way it would limit you at all. If you are on an Nvidia chipset, then you will need to run a 2T command rate which will show a bit slower in benchmarks. However, there is no measurable real world difference you can detect with the naked eye.

I did the same thing you are proposing with XP 32 bit recently. My gamer has an usable 3.25gb vs 2.0gb. It works well. I have not benched it to get specific results but there was certainly no slowdown of any sort.
