Does here anyone use edonkey2000?

Is there a hack or a trick to it? I use it to find some files and I hardly ever get more than 6-8 kb/s. Occasionally I will get 20-30 kb/s but it is rare. I tried to download some very common files and it still goes slow and I only connect to 1 or 2 people.
If I get something on kazaa I usually get 75-200 kb/s.

Anyone know?

disclaimer: these are legal files.

Dunno about eDonkey, but I have pretty good luck with eMule. I can grab most of the more common files (recent movie rips and such) within 12 hours or so. Speeds aren't amazing, but I just set up the stuff I want and it's usually done the next day.

That's because everybody has throttle back their upload bandwidth... IIRC, on kazaa you can't control the bandwidth.

I honestly haven't used eHoofedAnimal much at all since I got Bittorrent figured out. You have to dig a bit to find the .torrent file for whatever it is you're after but the d/l is unbelievably fast once it gets rolling.

used in conjunction with google, i would say otherwise 🙂

Yeah, you definitely have to dig around a bit to find what you want. No convenient central souce of file listings like ShareReactor, unfortunately.

For mainstream stuff, bittorrent is good. But for obscure stuff, it's not as good as edonkey. I've yet to not find a foreign movie that i'm looking for on edonkey. Recently i downloaded Winsor Pilates from edonkey. Try to find obscure stuff like that on Bittorrent.

You should update your serverlist regularly. I don't have the link for serverlist site but I think if you go to www.sharereactor.com you will find it under their links section. BTW all they have on their site are just edonkey links no actual warez.

What up g. Noticed you were representing the Jayhawks. I'm a KU student too, just thought you'd like to know.

Great! I surf the forums to get away from my wife (a KU alumni) and all I do is find even MORE of you darn Jayhawkers! 😉
