There are some cars that are listed on craigslist and a lot of them have had their odometers rolled back. So I was wondering, is just the fact that the odometer has been rolled back enough to discount the car by the same margin as something like a salvage title? I'd imagine that a car that has 200K miles would be worth more than a car that had its odometer rolled back from 150K miles to 100K miles but is now being sold with 150K miles...

Yet another thread derailed.
If you feel the need go ahead and make another. If it strays off topic again, I'll start handing out vacations.

You tell us. You're the car expert.
I'm not an "expert" yet but I know what I know. I know that you can safely inflate to sidewall and I know that there is a possibility for a car to not ever get to operating temperature if you're idling in frigid temperatures. I think I posted this on the wrong forum as this is a computer forum filled with shade tree mechanics...

Rolling back an odometer is illegal...there is no way I'd knowingly consider buying a car that has had that done to it.

Never claimed to be an "expert" at cars so I don't understand the point of your post. Why don't I just quote you and say that you said "I'm not a pedophile"... We know Jules, who cares!? Just because I'm not an expert, it doesn't mean I'm ignorant either... Of course you're going to retort with some snide comment anyhow..

It also doesn't mean you aren't ignorant, strangely enough
